This NAS is capable of providing a wide range of solutions such as a web server and databases allowing the hosting of a domain name in particular, as well as self-hosting, of at least 30 websites via the Web Station application.
You can also manage your entire business infrastructure by providing VPN access to your NAS to access your business data. Your NAS can also serve as a web proxy, or a video surveillance platform (via the Surveillance Station application).
You can also use this NAS to host your own mail server preconfigured via the MailPlus application, allowing you to integrate emails with your custom domain name.
Efficiency of backup solutions
The Synology RS819 is recommended to serve as a centralized backup target. Whether you are a Windows or Mac user, you can back up everything on your computer directly to a Synology NAS using Cloud Station Backup. Whenever a file is modified, changes are backed up in real time to the server. The RS819 offers the possibility to back up data to another DiskStation, other rsync servers, external hard drives or other clouds. The little extra of this server is to acquire the possibility to schedule backup tasks and restore the server from a specific point in time.
Connection comfort
No more difficulties connecting to your NAS from the internet. Thanks to the FirstHeberg network and the implementation of a fixed IPV4 address (IPV6 address available on request), your NAS can be reached from any computer or server connected to the internet. A Firewall integrated into our FirstHeberg interface allows you to limit the IPs authorized to connect to your NAS, in order to protect it from attacks coming from the internet.

You will have a complete Cloud Service! Like the ability to sync files among DiskStations and multiple devices, including Windows PC, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android as well as Windows mobile devices. No matter what platforms you use, Windows, Mac and Linux, enjoy fully integrated file sharing. The RS819 contains smart support for the network protocol including FTP, SMB2, AFP, NFS and WebDAV. This server effortlessly adapts to any network environment via the integration of Windows AD and LDAP. IT administrators therefore do not need to maintain two sets of credentials. The recycle bin feature saves you from worrying about missing files, following support on AFP, CIFS, File Station and WebDAV. Deleting files via the recycle bin location is automatic. With File Station, sharing and managing your files stored on RS819 is on the one hand fast but also very secure in one click. Advanced filters then make it easier for you to search for documents, photos or videos. In short, you can organize and share files through an advanced web application with ease. Share links with other users, thereby giving them access to files and folders. These users can then view them on their mobiles via the accompanying DS file application. All this in a highly secure way.
